Our back ground:

Dr. K. Chandra Mohan from Vijayawada in partnership with Dr. P L Rao (Mentor) from Nellore & his colleague Dr. Satish from Guntur established Modern Retina Centre Vijayawada in 2008 & Modern Retina Center Guntur in 2010. Modern Retina Centre Vijayawada was the first super speciality eye hospital in Andhra Pradesh that provided Comprehensive, Quality & Affordable eye care in the field of Vitreo-Retina diseases. For past 15 years, Dr. K. Chandra Mohan along with his partner doctors provided Medical Retina treatment for more than one lakh people and performed Retina surgeries in more than ten thousand people with high success rates. Dr. K. Chandra Mohan used to provide his out patient services in Vijayawada Modern Retina Centre on Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday. In Guntur Modern Retina Centre on Monday, Wednesday & Friday

New beginning:

After the sad demise of his Mentor Dr. P L Rao, it is decided that Dr. K. Chandra Mohan will provide his services in Vijayawada only
The name of Modern Retina Centre Vijayawada has been changed to MOHAN RETINA EYE HOSPITAL from 1st April 2024.
Dr. K. Chandra Mohan will provide full time Vitreo- Retina services at MOHAN RETINA EYE HOSPITAL, Vijayawada.

About Dr. K. Chandra Mohan:

Dr. K. Chandra Mohan did his MBBS from Sri Venkateswara Medical College (SVMC), Tirupathi
He has a good academic track record through out his undergraduate education and passed out in 1996 and finished house surgeon postings from SVRR Government Hospital, Tirupathi in 1997.

Some of his academic achievements during undergraduation are

1. Dr. P. Siva reddy Gold medal for standing first in Ophthalmology in 1995
2. Second in Gold Medal exam in Pharmacology
3. Second in Gold Medal exam in General Surgery

Persuing his interest in the subject of Ophthalmology, He got a meritorious seat at prestigious Aravind Eye Hospital & Post graduate institute, Madurai where he finished his post graduate education between 1998 to 2001.

He did fellowship in the speciality of Vitreo-Retina at Aravind Eye Hospital, Madurai under the able guidance of his great teachers and Mentors Dr. P. Namperumal swamy, Dr. Kim Ramaswamy & Dr. Shukla.

He further worked as consultant in the department of Vitreo-Retina at Aravind Eye Hospital Madurai. During this tenure, he gained immense experience in diagnosing and treating various Retina diseases and attained many academic achievements, published articles in national and international journals, presented papers and gave talks in various state and national conferences and authored a text book on Retinal Vascular Disorders.

After shifting to Andhra Pradesh, he worked as consultant at Sankara eye Hospital, pedakakani and NRI medical college & hospital, chinnakakani With an immense experience and interest in the field of Retina, under the able guidance of his Mentor Dr. P L rao, and in association with his colleague Dr. Satish, he established Modern Retina Centre at Vijayawada in 2008. When established, Modern Retina Centre was the first super speciality eye hospital doing exclusive Retina treatment for the whole of Andhra Pradesh. The hospital was established with state of the art equipment. In 2010 Modern Retina Centre was started with state of the art equipment in Guntur Till date Modern Retina Centre is one of the unique Specialty eye hospitals, providing high quality diagnostics and treatments at affordable costs under the able guidance of experienced doctors.

The all new Mohan Retina Centre and eye hospital Vijayawada will have full time services of Dr k. Chandra Mohan who has more than two decades of experience in the field of Retina and will provide compassionate care to all his patients
